Spaces at Mattie Furphy House and Tom Collins House available for hire

The Fellowship acquired and restored Mattie Furphy House (above) with the help of a grant from Lotterywest.

Read about Mattie Furphy, for whom the house was built, in Dainty but Determined by historian Dorothy Ericson, published in Australiana magazine in 2015. Read more about Mattie Furphy here.

Mattie's house, built between 1908 and the late 1920s, is a stunning apotheosis of the style of the Arts and Crafts movement espoused by artist and craftsman William Morris in the late 1890s. Mattie's copperwork, which originally featured in most rooms, was installed in what is now Tom Collins House by Mattie and her husband Samuel in 1938.

The house was profiled by ABC News in 2014.
