Around the world in diplomatic days: Sue Boyd in conversation with Dr Helena Studdert
On September 25 from 5.30pm Ms Boyd will share stories from her life and Not Always Diplomatic with FAWWA Secretary Dr Helena Studdert in A Diplomatic Conversation at Mattie Furphy House.
Ms Boyd served 34 years and Dr Studdert 22 years in the foreign service.
Not Always Diplomatic (UWA Publishing) chronicles the life of a pioneer in international diplomacy and a career that has spanned the globe. Sue Boyd has been the
head of Australian diplomatic missionsin Fiji, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Bangladesh. She also had postings at the United Nations in New York and in the former East Germany.
Sue Boyd shares this account of her life from her formative years in India, Germany, Ireland, Egypt, Cyprus and Britain through to her years at The University of Western Australia,
where she was the first woman to become student guild president, beating Kim Beazley.
